This is a really great, versatile pattern. I’ve made several nightgowns for my girls with it. One of my girls has some sensory issues, so I was able to tweak the arms/neckline so that I do pleats instead of elastic, and she loves it.

I downloaded the pattern, but it only goes to size 8. Am I missing something? Or did i download the wrong one?
Jamie Sanders –
yes, you must be missing something an the pattern goes up to size 14.

Nice simple pattern for a beginner or someone getting back to sewing. I appreciate that the pattern PDF is produced as layers. I can turn off the sizes I don’t need and print only the pages I want. Note that in my downloaded file the pattern marking “back neck cut line” on page 1 and all of the content on page 13 (pattern printing, assembly, cutting instructions) is associated with the size 14 layer, NOT with the pattern markings layer. It would have been nice to see cut lines for the ‘bodice only’ (paper-saving option from your original posts), which would make the pattern more versatile. I have two little granddaughters for whom I plan to make several tops, tunics and dresses.

I’ve been making this pattern every year for my granddaughter for the past 4 years. This year, she requested her dresses and helped pick out the fabric! I made the tunic to go with shorts for my toddler and crawling grand daughters as well! Easy pattern and directions. I love the versatility to alter the sleeves as well. Going to make some in flannel for nightgowns this year!

I can’t wait to make my first peasant dress from this oh-sew-versatile pattern! However, as a sewist who has been sitting at the machine for some 40 yrs, it’s hard for me to embrace the 1/4” seam allowance when I have been doing 5/8” seam allowance as the general standard in garment making and other crafts. I use 1/4” seam allowance for piecing my quilts. I’m just curious why 1/4” seam allowance is utilized in this pattern?
I may just cut the pieces with 5/8” allowance incorporated.

I don’t like to waste fabric, so that is the way I made it.
Jamie Sanders –
I am not sure what you mean, the pattern goes up to size 14.
